Patient Presentation (Day 5): Patient again states that he slept poorly. Other members of the team state that he was snoring loudly during the night. He moved slowly during the day of skiing and attributes this to a sore knee.
Initial Assessment: Airway, breathing and circulation are adequate. Patient did not have a loss of consciousness and has no back or neck trauma. Patient is protected from the environment in warm, dry clothing.
Focused Assessment:
The patient has taken one dose of a nasal decongestant. He complains of feeling fatigued and that he thinks he has a “chest cold”. Physical exam reveals a right knee that is tender to touch and causes slight pain (2/10) with movement. The patient is alert but seems slightly disoriented and drowsy. Other vital signs remain within normal limits.
