About FARI

Standard first aid does not provide the skills or knowledge to respond when emergency services are delayed or unavailable.  The 16-hour First Aid for Remote Industry course topics include: patient assessment, response to and management of major trauma and evacuation planning and prioritization, as well as treatments including CPR, splinting, burns and wound management and managing spine injuries.

Course time is split between lecture and hands-on skill training, including scenarios designed to reinforce lecture and to assess participants’ knowledge and skills.

Is FARI Right for me?

The First Aid for Remote Industry (FARI) course is designed to meet the first aid and CPR needs of industries with employees who work in remote locations where quick 911 response is not a reality.  Specific emphasis is placed on injuries/illness that are more common in the field work setting  as well as evacuation decision making and prioritization in a setting where the intent is for workers to return home or to a supported basecamp at the end of each day.
